Great news for home buyers!
The average rate on the 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage has fallen to 6.77%, its lowest level since mid-March.
This is a positive development for the US housing market.
Despite lower rates, homebuyers seem unimpressed as applications for a mortgage to purchase a house fell 3% for the week.
However, refinancing saw a significant increase last week, with many homeowners seizing the opportunity of lower mortgage rates to reduce the interest rate on their current home loans.
The downward trend in mortgage rates is likely to continue, making it a great time to consider buying or selling.
